Ontario · Virtual-Hybrid · Admission by interview · Opens once the founding cohort reaches the minimum

Mosaic's full school day, taught live to Ontario students at home, with the diploma built in.

Mosaic is a new challenge-based high school in Mississauga. Virtual-Hybrid runs the same day online: a live lecture every morning, real projects, a cohort your teenager sees daily, and OSSD credits we manage for you.

The Mosaic approach

How Mosaic Works

Challenge-based learning.

Every unit starts with a real problem. Students learn the content because they need it to solve the problem, which is why it tends to stay learned. The method is adapted from problem-based and integrated-science university programs with a long track record.

Mindsets, skills, then knowledge.

Content matters, and so does the ability to teach yourself something new. Projects are built so students practice both, because the second one is what universities keep saying first-years arrive without.

Project-driven, cohort-based.

Students build real projects with a cohort they see every day, and teachers coach the work as much as they lecture. It all runs live over video, so a student at the kitchen table has the same access to a teacher as one in the building.

Who We're Looking For

Admission is by interview. The list below describes the families this works for; the interview is where we find out whether your teenager wants it.

  • Already homeschooling

and want more live teaching, structure, and a real cohort

  • Considering leaving traditional school

and want a full-time school with a real diploma waiting at the end

  • Struggling in the current system

because of anxiety, bullying, ADHD, or a kid who finished the worksheet twenty minutes ago

  • Athletes, artists, and competitive performers

whose training schedules don't fit a 6-hour school day

  • Working-from-home families

who want the Mosaic experience without the commute

What Your Day Looks Like

Student presenting live from home during a Mosaic Virtual-Hybrid session

You log in at 9:00 for the Launch, a ten-minute warm-up. At 9:10 the whole cohort is live for the Challenge Lecture, where your teacher opens the problem you'll work on that week: how does a virus spread through a city, or how does a bridge decide what it can hold. You ask questions, argue with classmates, and leave with a project that is yours to build.

The rest of the morning is yours to work on it. Your teacher holds office hours twice a week and your cohort is in the shared workspace whenever you want a second opinion, so working independently never means working alone. Afternoons are for your own coursework at your own pace. Fridays the whole group debates what you built. Once a month, everyone presents.

It is a full school day, with a teacher and classmates who show up when you do.

Built-In Flexibility for Real Lives

Live sessions anchor the day, but a meaningful share of the week is guided-async work. That means students can:

  • Travel with family, attend a competition, or catch up around a training or rehearsal schedule
  • Take a sick day without falling a week behind
  • Move faster or slower through Independent Learning based on where they are in the material

Live sessions and weekly deadlines keep your teenager accountable. The rest of the day is theirs, which is what makes this work for athletes, performers and families who travel.

Background

What Mosaic Virtual-Hybrid Is

A live, teacher-led school delivered over video. Every day has a Challenge Lecture and guided project time; every week ends with a cohort discussion. A student in Ottawa or Thunder Bay gets the same day as one in Mississauga, and the Ontario diploma pathway is built in at near-cost.

It grew out of the virtual program founder Amna helped build at The Knowledge Society (tks.world), which now has students in more than 80 countries. Ontario families asked for the Mosaic day without the drive to Mississauga, so we built one. It is designed, staffed and priced, and it opens the moment the first cohort reaches the minimum.

Questions

FAQ

Yes. Ontario students earn OSSD credits through TVO ILC, and Mosaic staff track the credits and manage enrolment. The diploma is issued by the province and is the same one a public school student receives.

Book an info session, then an interview. We are looking for teenagers who want harder, more interesting work than their current school gives them, and parents who will back that. If you know a family like that, send them this page.
